‘Bangabandhu Book Fair’ to Be Held in New York on May 24–25

A two-day event titled the ‘Bangabandhu International Book Fair’ will begin on Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 AM, at Joya Party Hall (63-108 Woodhaven Blvd., Rego Park, NY 11374) in New York. The fair will be inaugurated by two respected figures of the diaspora community who have long contributed to the promotion of the Bengali language and culture: Syed Mohammad Ullah and Belal Beg.

Organized by the group “Ekattorer Prohori”, the event’s convener — scientist and freedom fighter Dr. Nurunnabi — stated that the Bangabandhu International Book Fair holds immense significance in the current times. He noted that the initiative has already generated enthusiastic responses from the community.

“We are receiving strong support from poets, writers, journalists, literary figures, and those involved in the cultural sphere to make the fair a success,” said Dr. Nurunnabi.

It is worth mentioning that due to recent controversies surrounding sudden changes within the organizing committee of the Muktadhara Foundation’s book fair in New York, Dr. Nurunnabi and several others have parted ways and officially announced the launch of the Bangabandhu International Book Fair as a separate initiative.
